One of THE most popular airshows held in the USA is “Aviation Nation”, held on Nellis AFB on the outskirts of Las Vegas - we attend both days.
Our tour starts, however, in another unforgettable ‘aviation location’: Arizona! And in particular Tucson and the famous AMARG military boneyard.
Travelling north we spend time at Luke AFB, the largest fighter training base in the US Air Force. A ramp tour will be requested (TBC).
Then to one of Mother Nature’s finest creations – the Grand Canyon – where we stay 2nights.
In Tucson we will request visits to the AZ ANG and Davis Monthan (TBC); we visit the incredible collection in Pima Air and Space Museum, with approximately 400 aircraft; have a guided tour of a genuine (de-commissioned) Titan Missile silo; have time to explore on foot parts of the perimeter of AMARG, and the nearby civilian boneyards. On the day we will request access to the airliner ‘scrap and part out’ site at the airport.
On our free day on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon we are offering optional helicopter flights (must be booked in advance, they are so popular).
